Karen's Story
I spent the first 18 years of my life in the church,
and then I spent the last 7 years running from God and his plan for my life.
However God had a way to get a hold of my life. In August, 2011 I was arrested.
I needed god and I needed him to take control of my life. September, 2011, I
made the call to Janet and Grow Ministries. I had no clue that I was about to
embark on a journey that would start to change my life in ways I never knew
possible. This past month I have seen god move in ways from
healing to finances. The staff is working with me as I grow in my relationship with
Christ and I face the truths about my past and deal with the hurts. Through
Grow ministries and the grace of God I live in a home with great Christian
people, who are daily helping me to see the love of Christ. The tools that I am
learning with Grow I will forever be able to apply to my life. God is truly

Before I came to GROW, I struggled with alcohol, smoking, drugs,
abandonment, and fear - you name it, I struggled with it. I came to
GROW in April of 2008. There I learned how to study, memorize and
meditate on God's Word. I graduated from the Strongholds
Discipleship Course in March of 2009, and I continue to this day to
attend class regularly. Through the 10 Principles, I have learned how to
adapt to not sinning against God. Christ had delivered me from from
the awful strongholds. I learned that through God's grace there is hope
because of His unconditional love. Today I am free in him. - Mary

Since 2005 I have been in and out of jail about 20 times and prison twice. I met Janet Wolfe in Rock Island County Jail and decided to start walking with Christ in 2008. Living in the Greenhouse is bringing me closer to God, teaching me life skills and making me want to be a better person. - Kris Gann
