Addiction Help
At GROW ministries we believe there is 1 step to freedom from addiction, a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
When Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sin, He set you free, from all the wrong you have ever committed.
In the Bible, the word of God, John 8:36 says,
"Those who the Son sets free are free indeed". So God’s sinless Son died for you!
If you have never come to a point in your life where you have taken that first “step”, which is a change in belief that is personal between you and God,
know that it is NOT too late. You can still do that!
First you must know you are a “Sinner”. Romans 3:23 says that “All have sinned and come short of the Glory of God”. But did you know that your sin separates you from a Holy God? And Romans 6:23 says, "The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord!"
Friend, that verse tells us that someday there is a “paycheck” coming to us and it is eternal “separation” from a Holy God for our sin….but God has a gift for you and me and it is FREE, it is heaven or eternal life…and it is found, not in twelve steps, or good works or any other way, but through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It is not just believing that He existed, but as it says in John 1:12 that we “received Him" and his work on the cross for ourselves. This is called salvation.
Your drugs of “choice” are just one of the many sins we have committed. Yes life is a choice……but the worst choice we can make is to die without choosing
Jesus as our personal Savior……
Salvation also gives us the power to overcome our addictions as the Holy Spirit comes to live inside of us…Ezekiel 37:26 and "overcome our sinful habits".
I plead with you to take this First Step, to Freedom and pray to receive the Lord Jesus Christ into your life…it can be a simple prayer, remember it isn’t the prayer itself but the “faith” it takes to say the words to God and mean them from your heart…… Lord Jesus forgive my sin, come into my life and help me follow you…Amen!
If you prayed this, find another Christian, or a pastor, or contact GROW, and let them know of your decision to follow Christ. The exciting thing is if you meant that prayer from your heart your belief systems will begin to change, and your “stinkn’ thinkn’ will begin to change and so will your actions!

1st Steps to Freedom Challenge
1. Admit that you are a sinner. Romans 3:23
For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.
2. Recognize the penalty for your sins. Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death;but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
3. Believe that Jesus loves you so much that He paid your penalty when He died, was buried, and rose again. I Corinthians 15:3-4
... Christ died for our sins and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.
4. Prayerfully turn from your sins and receive the Lord Jesus as your personal Savior. John 1:12
But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them which believe on His name.
